Rainy Day

Last week we had a couple of rainy days and since we were stuck in the house I decided to bake chocolate cookies with Layla. The only butter I had in the house was "light" butter and said it should not be used in baking. They were right! The cookies were yucky! But the cookie dough was delish and we had fun!
Layla kept looking outside and saying "uh oh! Wa wa!"

Layla can open all of the drawers on her dresser so she is constantly unloading the drawers. She is always pulling out all kinds of clothes, swimsuits, shoes, hairbows, etc. Lately she is wanting to put on swimsuits. Definetly not swimsuit weather here right now. I have given up on any sort of organization system to her drawers because just when I get it all put away she pulls it all out again.

Happy Thanksgiving

It was just the 3 of us this year for Thanksgiving. We started out the morning with our 1st Johnson family Turkey Trot run.

Ordering a honey baked ham made cooking a breeze. All I had to do was make a few side dishes and homemade rolls. We have so much to be thankful for this year.

Such a fun show! And even more fun enjoying it with Kathy....seems like we have had quite a few girls nights out together over the last few weeks!

15 month check-up

Layla weighs 21 pounds 3.5 ounces and is 31 1/4 inches tall. That makes her a pretty tall, skinny baby. Who would have thought she would thin out so much.

3 shots does not make a happy baby girl!

She is exceeding all of her 15 month milestones! She says lots and lots of words and is quite the chatterbox. She loves to brush her 8 teeth. She still loves her blankies and her dogs. She has learned how to open doors. She loves to put on her shoes and will even put together a matching pair. She no longer walks....now she runs everywhere she goes. And lots of tantrums pretty much sums up our day. We are having so much fun watching her grow.

Booster Seat

Layla's highchair converts to a booster seat so now she can sit at the table with us. Looks like she is making herself right at home!

Fall in AZ

Here is how we spend our days of fall here in Arizona.

....walking up and down the street all day long.

Disneyland

Lori and Shelby were nice enough to take us to Disneyland one afternoon while we were in California. Layla was not too fond of the rides but loved all of the sights and sounds Disneyland has to offer.




She may not have been a fan of Small World or Dumbo but she loved the parade we saw at California Adventure


We had such a nice time in California but wish we could have stayed longer. There were so many things we didn't have time to do and so many people we didn't get to see. Next time we will have to bring Daddy so he will let us stay longer.

San Diego Zoo and Tobin's first birthday

We had so much fun celebrating Tobin's first birthday at the San Diego Zoo.


It was so fun to get to spend some time playing with Tobin and Megan too. Layla is a little bit of a bully when it comes to Tobin's beloved pacifier. I am sure he will get her back one day.

So we were off to Nordstroms for a new pair of walking shoes.

Layla's 12 month check up

Layla weighs 20 pounds 9.5 ounces and is 29 3/4 inches tall. Wow! That is a lot of growing in one year! Her weight has definetly leveled off but she is still growing so much. This doctor appointment she had to have 3 shots... and 2 of them were in her arms..ouch!


I am always so glad that daddy comes to her doctors appointments then I don't have to hold her still for yucky shots!

She wasn't too happy about all the shots but she was as good as new a couple hours later.
Right now Layla loves......
-Walking around the house with her shopping cart/walker. She loves to put stuff in her basket.
-Bailey and most dogs in general. And Bailey really loves her too!
-Balloons!! She calls them "boons." We seldom leave a store without one.
-Yogurt, cheese and Avocados...about the only food we can get her to snack on
-Waving! She waives to everyone everywhere we go. She is quite the social girl!
-Most of all her blankets! She carries them all around the house and most of the time she has 2 or 3 out and at least 2 to sleep with.
