6 Year Anniversary

Today was our 6 year wedding anniversary. We weren't going to let not having a babysitter get in the way of our celebrating. So we made reservations, threw on some "fancy" clothes and loaded up the girls. The restaurant was nice enough to give us our own private room with a door we could close. I know it was only because we had 2 little ones with us but it was nice and I was glad we weren't disturbing anyone else's dinner. The girls both did farely well....it was a long dinner and Tatum was done after about an hour so there was lots of baby bouncing! Also, the head chef is a neighbor of ours so he was nice enough to cater to my lovely new diet.

Our own special menu's. We loved this!

We had a chaotic but very nice evening. But next year no little girls!!

First Day of Preschool

Layla was on a waiting list for a really great preschool. Lucky us that a spot become available. We already had our trip to Utah planned so we missed the first week but Layla was really excited for her first day.

The only bad news is the class we were able to get into starts at 8am! That is early for us Johnson girls. I figured we should be able to get out the door that early since its only two days a week. Layla's teacher is Ms. Stacey and she is so so sweet! Unfortunately Juan was out of town for work but he is hoping to be able to drop her off for school on Thursday.

Walking into school with her teacher and another preschooler Ellie
Showing me her work when I picked her up.
Not sure how my first baby has gotten big enough to be going to school but I am so excited for her to have fun learning and making new friends.

Utah Visit

Juan was going to be in Florida for a week for work so I decided to brave a trip to Utah by myself with both girls. Most of the family still hadn't met Tatum so I figured it would be a good time to go (and get out of the heat for a week!). We had such a great time. Layla loved playing with her cousins and cried the whole way to the airport when it was time to leave.

Tatum did great on the flight up and took a nice long nap

Layla did great as well. The beginning of our flight there was some pretty bad turbulence. Layla thought it was hilarious and was cracking up laughing. She said it was like a roller coaster. Glad she enjoyed it!

Playing flying fairies with aunt Lizzy

Papa Bill (and a crabby Tatum)! Cousins! Layla and Brynley were wearing fancy hats to go feed the horses

Feeding horses apples from a nearby tree

How amazing is this play house?! It is a little girls dream 2 story house with a porch and equipt with power. Coolest thing ever!!

Lots of fun dress up at Grandma's house

Tatum hanging out with Grandma watching the kids swim
Lots of kitchen sink baths for Tatum

Walking neighbors dogs with Brynley
My sisters!

Layla cam. Liz was so sweet and took the whole week off of work to spend time with us

Aunt Kat had horrible migraines the whole time we were there (thus the sunglasses). She was still sweet enough to let Layla have a sleepover at their house and even painted her nails and toenails

Tatum got lots of lovin' and was barely put down. Taking a sweet nap with uncle pot pie

The flight home didn't go quite as well. Layla cried most of the way to the airport because she didn't want to leave her cousins. Then our flight was delayed about 45 minutes. But once we were on the plane Layla was just fine and happy to be headed home to see Daddy.

Wish I could say the same for Taytay! She only slept for about 25 minutes which meant I wrestled with (and nursed) her for most of the flight.
Layla cam!
A really fun trip but we were sure glad to be back with our Daddy!

2 month and 3 year old check ups

I decided to schedule both girls checkups at the same time and save us multiple trips to and from the doctor. It ended up that our appointment took FOREVER but both girls were great.

Here are their stats!

Layla! 31.5 Pounds (50th percentile)
38 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
Her checkup went pretty quickly since it was just a well check and no shots were needed. Our doctor did say we will probably see longer, more articulate tantrums (check!), lots of wanting to do it by herself and getting frustrated when she can't (check), and really imaginative play (double check). We are having so much fun watching her play. Everything is a real life fairy tale. She has really jumped on board with the princess life. The other night, when she was in bed, she was calling "Prince! Prince!" I told Juan I'm pretty sure thats you. He went in there and she said "prince, you forgot your shirt in my room." So Daddy is now "handsome prince" and I am "boodsiful queen." It is hilarious to hear her call me queen. You bet I answer!!

Tatum
12 pounds 4 oz (75th percentile)
22 3/4 inches (50th-75th percentile)
Tatum's appointment was a bit more interesting. These girls look very similar as babies but apparently there are lots more similarities too. I noticed a bit of blood in Tatum's diaper....just like we saw in Layla's when she was about the same age. I have now cut out all milk and soy and any food that may have any traces of either in it. Hopefully this will go away and may help to clear up some of her fussiness. We also have had to start doing a bit of physical therapy on Tatum's neck because she favors turning her head to one side....funny thing is we did the exact same thing with Layla! She also turned her head to the exact same side (and was the reason for my first c-section). How bizarre!! The biggest difference is that Layla weighed almost 2 pounds more than Tay! She was huge!! Tatum is starting to talk, make cute coo-ing sounds, and smile. We are just in love with this little girl!
